Collecting & Recording

When I go away I love to collect all the bits of ephemera I pick up along the way - museum tickets, directions scribble on the back of a napkin, dried flowers, receipts, business cards from my favourite cafes... To then be able to connect the sounds from those places through a Mayfly Journal creates such an amazingly rich record. Some of these are quite subtle atmospheric sounds, some are conversations with people I've met, and others are more like diary entries. I decided to use one page (so one Mayfly) per day, and along with the ephemera and recordings I also wrote an itinerary of what I did that day.
